Next week I am spending a couple of days in Maidstone (work)
I am going to travel up to London to see friends on the Friday evening and stay over with them.
For those who know London well, is it better to leave the car in Maidstone (which will cost me nothing and it will be safe) and get train(s) to the capital (they live near Plaistow). Then train back Saturday. Or venture there in my car during the Friday rush. which if its as bad as people say, may tip me over the edge. My friends however do have a parking space for me.

If I go for train option they have told me to go to West Ham, but its 2 stops and about an hour and a half.

Definitely take the train. Use Maidstone East station and ask for a return ticket to London Zone 3. You'll arrive in London at Victoria Station. From there, take an eastbound District Line train to Plaistow.

Train, no question IMHO.
train !

I thought this may be the case.
Yes they have a parking space, but it may cost me my sanity as unfamiliar with London. I guess and hour and a half on trains isn't too bad. I would imagine many people who commute to the city regularly think I am daft for even asking!!
Lol, train everytime.
