What is it going to take to do something about this threat, an invasion of Poland again?
Are our Political leaders either not respecting the threat?
Maybe they are deliberately ignoring it (probably hoping the next incumbents will have to deal with it).
Have the supporters and sympathizers of Jihad infiltrated Government ranks perhaps?
Could be they are all still afraid of being called racists by the liberal left? Though I dont really buy that one these days.
What are Aber's thoughts on this because I am truly baffled.

Serious question, because we're not talking about advancing armies here, just about disaffected local youth (mostly) and some hardline elders.
I'd be surprised if politicians were ignoring it; but as it's chiefly a matter of internal security rather than mobilising the military, they're hardly going to be talking about it; they welcome any excuse not to tell the public what they're up to, and this is one such excuse.

The invasion of Poland was a reference to our failure to intervene in Europe quickly enough in the late 1930's.
I'd also take issue with your assertion we are not dealing with armies. A few years ago that would have been 100% correct but now we are seeing caliphates being declared and armies there to push them out. This is not just confined to Northern Iraq/syria either it is in Africa big time. It is not dissafected local youth either, many are not local and many are not youth.
There is however another element, that being the threat from within. This is perhaps where the moderate Muslims can play a role but it is still going to be down to Government to take firm and decisive action, action that will not be palatable with some.

We are not doing enough, especially the UK, to combat the threat of IS.
Our contribution so far has been pathetic.
We got our fingers burnt in Afghanistan and Iraq. So the public and Politicians are wary.
Problem is, Saddam and the Taleban were never a real threat to to Britain. Islamic State are.

The Egyptian response was encouraging, I don't think it is up to ordinary muslims to fight a war, that is the job for soldiers.
I agree that more action is required, troops on the ground would show these part time soldiers what a well trained and technically superior military can do.
We would have to stomach the casualties, war is war, it does not change.

No it shouldn't. It should be one of our aims. Another should be to eradicate anyone who indiscriminately murders British citizens. That includes British journalists and Aid Workers.

Letting Islamic State succeed in their aim of establishing a Caliphate across the middle east in not in our interest. They need to be stopped before it is too late.
