Hi
Thinking of going to Canada next year - has anybody flown with Air Transat, and if so how would they rate the airline. The fare from Gatwick to Montreal next September (economy) with Air Canada is £1686 for the two of us - with Air Transat £930 for two. I realise that "you get what you pay for" but this does seem so cheap in comparison. Would be grateful for any feedback.

Flown Air Transat a couple of times and been very happy with the service, plane etc, would not hesitate using them again, if you ask Canadians they would probably rate it as better than AC . I know my relatives do. Maybe you loose an inch on the seat pitch but if you are of normal height no problems.
Also they have had a big refurbishment programme recently and my relatives inform me that it has made a big difference. (Much better) hope this helps.
Skytrax rates Air Transat as a 3 star airline, based upon 586 reviews:

Air Canada is rated as a 4 star airline, based upon 1508 reviews:

For further comparison, BA and Virgin Atlantic both achieve 4 stars, while American Airlines and Delta score 3 each.
I've flown with them a few times (Gatwick - Vancouver) and found them to be absolutely fine.
..put it this way, I doubt you'd be getting anything extra worth £700 for the £700 extra you'd be paying on Air Canada.
