Can anyone confirm that the electricity in Dubai is 220v, and that the plugs are the same as UK ie 3 pin? Thank you.

Oh yes woofy always in a brown paper bag!!!
It got out nice for a while again but that wind off the sea is too cold to do much outside. I keep moving about indoors though as much as poss with this damned leg. You'd all laugh if you could see me plodding up and down the stairs and round the rooms every so often.
We don't want to see your name in the papers Neti ,thank you :)

We dont have stairs apart from the 9 steps from garage and land up to the big patio, so once I am here that's it, except that every room is on a different level so if not concentrating you can trip up. At sister's ifind it so annoying when I forget something and have to keep climbing up her stairs, they are wide and not steep but it's still annoying.

I only buy red top mags and thats for the puzzles.

Good morning. Boaty Mcboatface is official. I like it!
MrN and Hija are off to work. I have a cuppa in bed and freshly squeezed o j in the fridge, this is the life. Overcast but hopefully it will brighten up later.
Morning readers...I like being upstairs but it is annoying going up and down them, 'specially when I've forgotten something...which is more often than not lately. If I'm upset or worried I go upstairs, maybe I think more clearly nearer the sky :)

It's dull and cold and, according to (very rarely) Accu, today I'll mostly be watching for frizz.
hello all, well one knee is fixed and the other is lagging.
The government are backing out of Boaty McBoatface and wanting “something inspiring” what a load of boring mcborefaces.
Chilly here today but dry. I have chatted to my window cleaner, got the washing and drying going, sorted the torts...btw they are only middle aged for torts! and started two jars of fruit liqueur off...I found a final bottle of the first lot I made 4 years ago at the back of the cupboard and its delicious so I decide its worth the effort to do some more and I had a load of frozen fruit stashed. One jar is cranberry raspberry and one jar is cranberry blackberry. might do some slow rise bread dough later, the sourdough starter is ready.....don’t I sound all domesticated ha ha.

I've been very industrious, I've cleaned the kitchen shelves as much as I can without them falling apart! Used Henry for a proper clean through, done ironing, love being on my own,
Anyone know how to clean the turbo head of a Henry, it's got loads of hair wound round the brush bit and I can see no way to get the brush off?
Question Author
Aw no Boaty Mcboatface ? That is sad. It is a ridiculous name and typically eccentric and British, I love it!
Hello all
Chilly and cloudy here .
You're very virtuous there Woofy and Neti. It was all I could do to get myself to the hairdresser this morning and I was chauffeured there and back.
Same old here ,leg singing me a song, drillers drilling again after a quiet day yesterday.
I was watching Indian Summers last night and they were drinking champagne and I thought how I would love a glass .It's supposed to be a good pick me up.Mum in law always used to keep those piccolos in the fridge but you don't seem to be able to get them here and I can't drink a whole bottle of fizz on my own !
Yours, Shaney Mcfedupface:)
ah me, we were going to an exhibition opening this morning, I had a shower and cut my toe nails and everything, and then I checked and it isn't until tomorrow. All that water, all that soap, all that time, completely wasted.

Time and dirt you will never get back jno mccleanface !
shaney, you want one of these
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cooking-Marvellous-Champagne-Stopper/dp/B001E4G884

I love a glass (or five) of champagne but its not always sensible to chug the whole bottle. I use one of these and it will keep the fizz in for about a week.

marks still sell the tiny bottles of their own brand but its a very expensive way to buy it.

Jno, what a total waste of clipped toenails!

Yes Neti, load of comments that its an unmissable opportunity to really get some attention focussed on marine exploration...some fogey retired fwa fwa wants it called Arctic or (Antarctic) Explorer yawn yawn
That's a good idea Woofy ,thank you.I can't have any inkahol atm but I've put one in my wish list for when I can. I'm not a champagne drinker as such but I just fancied it and it got me thinking how Mil and I used to share one of those small bottles sometimes.
Lol..never mind Jno ,you can have another shower tomorrow and then you'll be JnoMcsuperdoopercleanface.
Yes, some days are a waste of pan stick.

Neti, shame on you, all that domestic goddess malarkey and you don't keep your tools clean? You need to pull the hairs out with strong tweezers or long nosed pliers, you might have to snip them with scissors.

Sorry, I hate the Boaty name, it's the equivalent of a musical earworm, once I hear it it's running though my mind all day.
Im in grumpy mode...shaney chill the fizz, I'm on my way. I could do with getting Mc****faced. :)
Me too Robinia .We could sit on the sofa and talk about people and get totally silly...hahaaa.
The last drink I had was new years eve. The bottle of Jamiesons is still there winking at me but I dare not mix it with painkillers.
I could quite happily glug it straight down out of the bottle though the way I feel atm.
I took that horrible bandage off this morning ...oh yuk, ouch and ****ing hell. I expect it'll be bandaged up again tomorrow though :(
I'm not surprised you're fed up shaney, I would be. I very rarely drink so it would be less of a pick me up and more of a pull me up please :)
Question Author
Oh poor shaney mcacheface. It just seems never ending for you. I think you should poor the whisky over the nasty leg, kill or cure!
Mr N got all excited he just found another channel on our HD Box. 117? Don't had it in longer.
I managed to burn the bottom of his shop bought (I'm not that domesticated) apfel crumble from Lidl in the microwave. I never knew one could burn things in a microwave!
Question Author
Translation.... Don't have new channel 117 in lounge.
It might kill or cure Neti, you never know .I'd rather drink it though.
Mr S went to Lidl last week as it was german week and got a couple of those streusel cakes .One plum and one cherry .They were quite large so have saved them in the freezer for a rainy day.He also got the ready done schnitzel which are very nice and saves me messing about doing them.
I've been watching tv and knitting and am just waiting for ye olde dishwasher to ping and for the drugs to kick in then bed.
Night all.
