That's one of the reasons we vowed not to fly with Ryanair again - it was like a cattle market when we flew with them. I mean most other airlines allocate seats before you board, so it can't be too difficult ..... can it ??
Anyway, now that it looks like they've changed their ways, we'll prob consider them when we're looking for our next holiday :)
Interesting, tez - thank you for the update.

I actually liked picking my own seat gizmonster me and hubby were crafty he used to sit in window seat And I sat in aisle seat thus leaving the middle seat free well no one ever wanted to sit between us so we ended up with more room , only once did someone go to sit in middle so I then moved and let them have aisle seat I know I know ppl it was selfish but I wasn't the only one doing it
Yes it is selfish, you find people hogging the end seats in church and theatres etc and everyone else has to climb over them why don't they all move up and be more accommodating, rant over!!!
I bought on a decent sized bag and no one questioned it.

I know what you mean Caribeing....I always arrive in good time to choose a non pre-booked seat to suit me...usually an aisle seat.....it's the selfish latecomers doing the climbing over that annoy me....♣
I've only been on one Ryanair flight that was full.

Only flown with them once (cattle-class, I think) 'tis true what they say'
'You get what you pay for'
I only use them to fly to Ireland (we don't have much choice) it's an hour....I can handle an hour for half price tickets.

I think they only do cattle class.

i cant for life of me understand why ppl moan about them you know what you are getting before you book stick to the rules and theres no problem i have never had a late flight plane is always clean if you dont want to buy their food you dont have too leg room is no worse than other airline, dont book a ticket with them knowing the rules then moan about the rules durr thats my rant over from a very selfish tezmand pmsl
Tez....I'd give you best answer for that if I could....spot on....and if someone needs leg room...cough up a tenner and book!....♣
I was flying back from Santander some years ago and arrived to find the flight "probably cancelled". In which case I was told my ticket would be refunded, but I'd have to re-book oh and by the way the next 3 day's flights are full and the next available flight only has seats at 3 times the price of your original booking and no, it's not Ryanair policy to provide hotels so away you go on to the street and sort it yourself......

as it happened the plane had had to set down in Bordeaux due to a bird strike, and was able to continue some hours later - but ryanair's non-existent customer care had been displayed for all to see.

thanks gness happy st patricks day ppl x
Mushroom - I think they are much better now.
The one thing I didn't like about Ryanair was having to use the outside toilet.
Caribeing, if you want to sit on the aisle in church or the cinema, get there earlier, why should I have to move for you if I want to sit on the aisle. In a cinema which didn't allocate seats, we sat on the two aisle seats, a mother turned up during the trailers and demanded that not only we move up but also the people on the opposite row, she needed to have her children seated sort of together. She became very abusive when we all refused, accused us of being child-haters etc etc. She still didn't get the seats though!

what sort of time-frame is "now"? my sister flew to Perpignan 12months ago to see parents - or rather she didn't, the plane diverted to Arles and Ryanair told anyone wishing to travel to Perpignan that it was up to them how they got there.
Question Author
Zebo totally agree ppl arrive late and want you to move !!!
You do get what you pay for with Ryanair, but I defy anybody to get to most of their destinations cheaper. Play their rules and you can't beat them. Long live Ryanair!
