What have been your experiences with high street restaurants? We like Zizzi and Prezzo. Went to a Pizza Express in Buxton a couple of years ago and was told there would be a two-hour wait! Express? Don't think so!
I like Zizzis too. Pizza Express is nice though I don't tend to go very often. I love their Doughballs though.
I rarely go in but find Pizza Hut visits interesting having worked in one when I was younger.
I think a lot depends on what you want at the time. I find the reliability of some chains good, you know what is on offer, the cost etc... I like Nandos and Wetherspoons are usually good value for a quick or cheap meal.
I like Wagamama food and Tampopo is nice but I'm not so keen on the bench style of seating.
Not massively keen on any chain. However, we've found that Frankie and Benny's and Vintage Inns cater for kids so when we have contact we tend to favour them.
Not sure if you would class Loch Fyne as a "High Street" restaurant, but we do like them.
Other than that, we tend to go local and "non" chain.
I was once told that 'everything comes to he who waits'. What is the longest you are prepared to wait for food? My limit is about the one hour mark. After that I get very hungry!
I lie Pizza Express's thin pizzas, you can practically see through them and you don't spend half your meal munching dough. Gourmet Burger Kitchen are tasty and again you can get your burgers without buns, they just give you coleslaw and salad along with your burger and toppings.
I didn't realise until now that Prezzo was a large chain! Used to go to Prezzo in Romsey, very nice, good service, good food, fair price. It's tucked away in a small town that refuses the likes of McDonalds, KFC etc. I find if you go to chains, or most places to be fair, don't go for the specials - it's just meals they need to get rid of before they go out of date, cooked up in large batches and pretty names and desciptions added to them to make them sound appealing.
