Hotels in Cork

Does anyone know of a good hotel in or around Cork in Ireland? I have looked at various web sites but nothing beats a personal recommendation. Ideally I would like somewhere on the coast or the river and I don't want to spend a fortune. Any ideas?

dont know much about the hotels there, but Blarney is a nice place to stay.  The Blarney Park I think is probably quite nice.

Just a tip...

Don't kiss the Blarney Stone. Local kids think it's hilarous to wee on it.

Thanks - can't say I fancied it anyway. Who knows who might have kissed it before you - or, as you say - even worse!

You have to lean out and be held at quite a height while you kiss the stone, or at least thats the way it was a few years ago so I would love to see the kids who could piddle on it.
