Could I be an au pair in Spain?

I am just putting a few ideas out there to see the response. I am 27 years old with 2 children. I have a degree, good respectable job and clean CRB. I live in England. My children and I are learning Spanish from having Spanish au pairs live with us. I was wondering if it would be possible to reverse the role! I am thinking about being an au pair during the summer holidays 1-2 months for us to improve our Spanish and allow my children to experience the Spanish culture. My degree and work involve caring for children. I was wondering if this would be possible, and if anyone knows about au pairs with their own children.

Spain's unemployment rate is the highest in Europe. It's hovering around 25% of the workforce, with about 40% of young people out of work. I very much doubt that many people will be taking on au pairs in Spain at the moment.

However there will always be a few reasonably affluent people who will be seeking au pairs, e.g:

I work with many Spanish people who have been unable to get jobs and so have came over to the UK, you are right about the unemployment situation...I never quite thought of it that way! On the plus side I supose there will be families, like myself, who earn a respectable salary but dont want to pay hefty private nanny fees! Its not even the money for working as an au pair im interested in, its the experience of my children and I living there. Thank you for your information I will certainly look into it!
