Spain's unemployment rate is the highest in Europe. It's hovering around 25% of the workforce, with about 40% of young people out of work. I very much doubt that many people will be taking on au pairs in Spain at the moment.

Thank you chris,
I work with many Spanish people who have been unable to get jobs and so have came over to the UK, you are right about the unemployment situation...I never quite thought of it that way! On the plus side I supose there will be families, like myself, who earn a respectable salary but dont want to pay hefty private nanny fees! Its not even the money for working as an au pair im interested in, its the experience of my children and I living there. Thank you for your information I will certainly look into it! |
