Montenegro

We are thinking of a week in Montenegro in late May. Maybe even fly to Dubrovnik and have a short two centre holiday. Would love to hear about your experiences/recommendations. Many thanks

We visited Montenegro about 4 years ago for a wedding.
We flew in and out of Dubrovnik and hired a car to take us down to Budva / Becici in Montenegro (2 1/2hr journey).
No problems in airport or with the hire car.
We booked our guest house over the internet; again no probs (and much cheaper than a hotel!!)
Budva / Becici was lovely. Nice beaches with all the usual services: Restaurants, shops and beachwear shops. The old city in Budva is worth a visit.

There was a lot of building going on; it looked like they knew we were coming and wanted to have everything finished in time....but hadn't quite made it.

Montenegro uses the Euro so don't expect any bargains.

The people were all very friendly in a miserable, communist bloc / Slavic way. The only time I saw the ladies in the local shop really smiling at me was when I walked into the shop wearing my kilt on wedding day.

Top tip: it can get quite hot in Montenegro in June and I wouldn't advise wearing any heavy woollen items, such as a Kilt unless really necessary.
