I'm poking around on the web looking for a bit of sunshine.

To book a premium economy flight will cost me ~£600. However I have a few airmiles to use, to use them for my chosen will cost me £650 but I will have to fly economy in one direction.

Not really a question, more a warning to others to do their research!

also, to fly premium economy, you'll have to pay the first class departure tax, which is a lot more than in economy (unless the airline factors them in, but it probably doesn't).

All taxes are included in both prices and TBH I'm not bothered about paying higher levels of tax/APD etc to travel in my chosen class.

What I was miffed about was finding BA wanting to charge me more money for a lesser service when I looked at cashing in some miles/points/whatever they have now become.
I think under the new air miles arrangement taxes aren't included, so presumably you got in before the deadline. Anyway, yes, do check your prices before cashing anything in.
