Trying to price out a trip to Disneyland in Paris from up here in Scotland. Been looking at flights, but there are some good deals getting over with the Eurostar train. Just wanted to get an idea of how much it would cost to get the sleeper down and back. First of all it wont give you a ticket (and therefore a price) any more than 12 weeks in advance. I wont to go in October! So, then I put in dates in June travelling on the same day of the week to get an idea of the price, then, it wont give me a price because there are children in the party. Flaming ridiculous!!!! It'll be back to the plane then!

Eurostar have agreements for through fares (from nearly all UK mainline stations) with the principal operators on routes into London. That includes East Coast who operate on the East Coast Main Line from Glasgow and Edinburgh. However the sleeper service is operated by Scotrail, using the West Coast Mainline, and there's no joint ticketing arrangement. (So you'd need to buy separate tickets between Scotland and London and between London and Disneyland Resort).

However you can still get quotes for daytime travel via the East Coast Mainline on the Eurostar website. Based on outbound travel on Tuesday 7 June, the total fare for 2 adults and 2 children (aged 6 & 8 years) is £313 on the 0540 ex Edinburgh (arrives Disney Resort at 1553) but only £214.50 on the 0730 service (arrives Disney Resort at 1707).

Returning on Tuesday 14 June, the total fare for the 0817 service (arrives Edinburgh at 1622) is £191.50. On the 1048 service (arriving Edinburgh at 1919) is £178.50.

So your return fare, for a family of 2 adults and 2 children starts from just under £400.

Cheers Chris - that's not much cheaper than the plane then for all that time travelling - we would be travelling from north of Edinburgh too so would either need to drive down early to get one of those trains (and find and pay for parking in the city centre) travel down the night before and pay to stay somewhere, or travel later and waste the whole day of disney. Only practical way is to fly I think. Thanks again.
If you do get the train, its cheaper to book your entire route on the eurostar site than to book them separately for some reason
