I've heard that camping is not permitted on Scilly. Is this true?

Would I get stopped at the ferry terminal if I had a tent tied to my backpack?

If you Google "camping scilly" you will see that there are many sites about camping there. Maybe it's only in official campsites that you are allowed to set up your tent.
