Remote Keys
26 Answers
The dimlo I live with has put his van keys in the wash. The van won't open at the moment.
Has anyone done the same? Did the key work after drying out properly?
He has 4 people to pick up in the morning...

I've never come across a battery-powered key that doesn't have a back-up method of getting into the vehicle (and usually of starting it too) when the battery in the key is flat. So there ought to be a way to get into the van without using the 'remote' feature.
With my Saab car, for example, I can get into it without using the 'remote' way by pulling the 'traditional' key out of the 'remote' one

and inserting into the lock on the front passenger side. (It sets the alarm off but I can then cancel that by inserting the remote part into the ignition). So perhaps there's something similar on the van?
Make and model, please?
