We have a 2yr old JR cross Daxi and she is driving us mad with her barking! We rehomed her at 10mths and she hardly barked at all. She is perfect in every other way, walks well, comes when called, good with other dogs and children and loves to sit and sleep on your lap. BUT everytime we get up to leave the room she goes mad, we have tried ignoring it but it just goes on and on ! She is fine if we leave her to go shopping, neighbour says she is quiet, and she sleeps in a puppy cage, no problem there.
We tried a bark collar that sprays lemon but she just shakes her head so that it turns round, not silly !
Please can anyone suggest anything to help ?

clicker training is your answer my friend. Kind methods not cruel one's are the answer. I am not a fan of electronic collars or any other that release awful lemon juice sprays!!.

Try putting your coat on and off and going through the motions of leaving the room when she is quiet praise her and give her a treat. If you want me to explain the concept of clicker traing i can do.
sitting and sleeping on your lap is a no no when you have behavioural problems dogs should NOT be on your lap. This dog sounds spoilt to me and that is why you get problems
