Sony appear to have heeded threats, thought to be coming from N Korea, and withdrawn this film from circulation.
Is this a bad day for freedom of expression?

I should say so.
Of course, everyone will want to see it now. Good publicity.

That's what I was thinking. Even if it's a turkey you'd almost feel obliged to see it as a sort of two fingered response to Kim Jong Un.
I DEFINITELY want to see it now.
Never heard of it... till now. Calculated to make a fortune, I reckon.

The thought just struck me, is the N Korean leader a wrong'un? ☺
Sandy, he's certainly a wii fat wun
You couldn't invent a basket case like North Korea. If it were not for the support of China it would have been consigned to the dustbin long ago. It is like a script from a George Orwell novel.
North Korea is a highly unstable country, with a mad dictator. Was it really sensible to make this film in the first place ?

Charlie Chaplin made, The Great Dictator, lampooning a monster far more powerful in his time than the loony Korean leader.

You think this will cause North Korea to go to war, mikey?
The Great Dictator was made in 1940 when we were already at war with Germany and in my opinion was fair game.
talbot...North Korea is so unstable that they are capable of anything. We should be very wary of incurring their wrath, especially over such a trivial thing as a film. I am not suggesting that appeasement is the way forward, but it seems daft to keep poking a stick in the behind of an animal that has such sharp teeth ::

Tinpot nation run by a tiny tyrant.

I am more about the arctic ground squirrel than the nutty dictator

A tiny tyrant with nuclear weapons.
There are other possibilities such as an ex-employee who would have the requisite inside knowledge of a group of hackers looking for a soft target http://news.sky.com/story/1394074/is-north-korea-really-behind-sony-hack-attack

Incidentally, the people who run the internet have also been hacked simply by the use of phishing emails http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/gadgets-and-tech/news/authority-that-runs-the-internet-has-been-hacked-9933309.html
typo ...knowledge OR a group of hackers...
