My daughter and her fiance are going to Amsterdam next week. Does anyone know if they have to register API? They have asked the travel agent and the airline and both said no, but we would like to make sure!

Would that be an Application Program Interface or membership of The Australian Property Institute?

Clarification please.

Advance Passenger Information for flights.
I understand that API is mainly required if you were to be travelling to or via the USA. But check this site:

http://www.direct.gov...l/AirTravel/DG_176737

which should give further information.

Good luck.
many EU countries or airlines ask for this. If the airline has said no then it will not be required. When I travel to Holland with Easyjet it is required by them.
You certainly have to do it for the Spanish destinations, there is a big banner comes up on your on-line tickets reminding you that you can't travel unless you do.
This says yes, it's apparently new regulations, the Netherlands DO need it. http://www.stowawaytr...m/index.php?pageid=31
It's not always/often a separate thing though. Many airlines (like EasyJet, jet2 etc.) collect the API information (when necessary) at your online check-in and automatically forward it to the receiving authority.
