Further to my earlier post, I have now downloaded a few apps to my new phone from
the android market website, one of the apps I wanted was "Shazam" music recognition
however there were 2 versions of this, the free version gave you five searches per month but there was also a paid for version with unlimited searches this was £2.99
but what it didn't tell you was if that payment was a one off or if it was an ongoing monthly
payment, does anybody know.?

Most of these things just keep charging you until you unsubscribe.

Thanks squarebear I will give that a wide berth then.
I don't have a problem with buying a one off product but when they keep charging you
it's a different matter.
Yep, they hope that you think it's only a couple of quid so I might as well have it.
No, Squarebear is incorrect, it is a one off charge:

http://www.shazam.com...ml/android/faq.html#i

"We built Shazam Encore so we could include many of the features that our fans have requested and from what our research tells us, our users are happy to pay a one-off fee for the extra features."

It is a one-of payment, as most apps are from the Android marketplace.
The ed beat me to it :)

It will use a small amount of your data allowance each time you use it though.
Ah my apologies. An honest company for a change.
Or WiFi if you're connect.

Out of interest, what phone are you running at the moment?
A HTC desire..... see her previous post :)
