changing buttons on the keyboard

i bought my netbook in malaysia so it doesnt have a pound sign. can i make it so if i press something like 'shift' and '3' it will make the pound sign? if so, how do i do this?

If you just change the keyboard layout to English (UK) then you'll have all the correct keys in the same places as a UK keyboard would have them, just the labels on the keys will not always match what the key actually does.

Look in control panel, regional and language settings.

Is the " sign on shift + 2

If it's not and you get the @ sign you've set it to English (USA) not English (uk)

im sorry i didnt understand your shift plus 2 business lol.
but yes when i do shift and 2 it does come up with an @ sign... its the sign on the keyboard too...

That's not English (UK) then, there are a few languages it could be set to but the most likely is English (USA)
