Trouble with burning a film

Hi,

I have downloaded a film, it play on my pc. I have burnt it to a disc but when Ive played it back on my DVD player it as no audio. any advice?

The file is a windows file, ive tried to burn it with nero 7

Because (depending on the size and format of the audio) the audio will be a format not readable or supported by your DVD player. Only way to fix that is to convert to a proper DVD .. or demux and remux with something like VirtualDub to convert the audio into something that the DVD player will play.
Try and use freeware program vlc media player to play back video files. It can play most video formats without having to download any additional data (codecs).
The problem was playing on a home DVD player .. not on the PC .. as I well recognised.
How can you use VLC on a home player?
