Latest Computeractive mag. has a whole feature on this very subject. Worth even a free look in WHSmiths (or buy! @£1.95).

I get it on subscription @ about £1 per copy - haven't opened this copy yet! But these "free software" articles are usually very worthwhile!

try www.download.com its a cnet site and i have haven't had any problems downloading from there.
