all i have is 'organise', 'views', 'previews', 'slideshow' etc at the top.

what am i doing wrong please?
how do i get the file, edit etc back?

:-)
PITA that they chose NOT to have it showing as default though ... grrr, lol
IT was got rid of because it's largely unused by most people now.

You can cut, copy, paste etc by selecting the items and then right clicking on them, or use the following shortcut keys

CTRL + X is cut
CRTL + C is copy
CTRL + V is paste.
You can also cut, copy and paste from the Organize drop down.

I am not sure what "extra" these File, Edit, menus give you that the "new" menus dont.

I have never found a need to show them.

Can anyone tell me why they need these file, edit menus and what they need on them that is not available elsewhere?
Some people prefer to click Edit > Copy, I reckon it's as simple as that.

It's not about ease-of-use or anything complicated.
