Buying a Satnav

I'd like to buy a Satnav. I currently have a Binatone one, but the screen somehow got badly cracked, the maps are out-of-date, and it's only UK & Ireland.

I'd like a Satnav with maps for Western Europe, downloadable updates (preferably free), and possibly lane guidance, but I don't want to spend more than necessary.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Have a look at the TomTom One XL Europen Factory Refurb from totalpda.co.uk - if they've still got them. Mine cost about £90 + £10 delivery including Western Europe mapping. Updates are about £40. We recently drove to Italy and found the TomTom excellent.

This will be useful: if you click on the model name you will get full details.
