Camcorder with infrared

Does anyone know of a reasonably priced digital camcorder with infrared night vision (0,lux) I have an old sony 8mm camcorder that has it but I think its time I got a new one. Thanks.

Sony is still your best bet, look for ones with nightshot mode on them.

All digital camcorders could be basic night vision cameras in theory as the CCD's used to pick up the pictures are naturally more sensitive to IR light then normal visible light but they then have a glass filter in front of the CCD to filter out IR light.

several Sony camcorders have a nightshot mode, which simply removes the IR filter from in front of the CCD thus turning them into basic night vision cameras.

Be aware that on the newer sony cameras with nightshot you no longer have any control over exposure or aperture settings as when in nightshot mode they are both automatically set to maximum

(I think there might be a few models of panasonic cameras that have a nightview mode that works in the same way)
