i just got a new iphone 3g am i right in thinking that every time i press for browsing that it connects thru my home wireless setup or do i have a huge bill to look forwar to

It depends how you connect and also your contract.

iPhone connects in two ways - 3G or wifi. If you connect through wifi it should be free.
If you connect through 3G you may have to pay.

if it was anything but a phone the question would be the other way round and start with should
If you are on O2 which is the normal way, then browsing is free whichever way it is connected. You only pay for calls and text (over your allowance)
Simple answer is no you wont have a bill. (faymousse sorry your wrong, you dont pay for 3g) The only time you will pay is if you took your phone to say the States, then you would have a bigger bill for browsing the net. Here in the uk its all free.
