are you sure its not northampton?
it may be this bank:
Barclays
102 Watling Street
Towcester
Northants
NN12 6BT

Telephone: 08457 555 555
all post for Barclays Bank is centralised. just address it to the branch address and it will get to the right department. if you dont have that address, do you have a cheque book with the address on it or a bank statement. Failing that pop into any branch of Barclays and they can send your mail through their internal post system using just the sorting code.
Bank details: Barclays Bank,
Address: The Northampton Group
PO Box 23
Northampton NN1 4YD
United Kingdom

Account name: IULTCS
Account number: 60032182
Sort Code: 20-61-51

Once again, as with all these queries, I'd be interested to know what use the info could be- I can't think of any use for the info in these days of centralised processing
BARCLAYS BANK PLC
N'thampton Wellinborough Rd
LE87 2BB
Confused? Why not ring Barclays or at least tell us what the real query is, as we may be able to advise on next steps for you
Barclays chequebooks do not have the branch address on - just the name of the branch. So that won't help

The Leicester postcode is Barclays processing centre. It is the address of ALL their branches (in England and Wales anyway). Mail should be sent there, not to an individual branch. You really don't need to know where the branch is

So why do you need to know? It will make a difference to the answer.
Has anyone else noticed almost all sortcode queries come from green 'newbies' to AB and rarely are our answers acknowledged.
Yep,strange isn't it factor,,I had pondered on that.
Just what do they want this information for?
My bank is NatWest, Berkeley Square,LondonW1.
However, all mail goes to a central department in North Kent,so the branch address wouldn't benefit them at all!

Maybe Mrs Overall is right, and it's a new form of trainspotting? LOL
I'm sure the info isn't needed for any kind of farud as it's not secret info- sort codes are already in the public domain as they are printed on cheques and available on the web- but I just can't see why people need to find branch addresses for sort codes. I guess they are either filing in a standing order mandate which for some reason asks for a branch address or they are querying an item on their statement and think the branch address might help them trace who the payment was to.
But it's strange that the questioners never respond when asked why they need it.
So I am now warming to Mrs Overall's theory.
I subscribe to the fraud theory - OK I know it can't be done but there will be plenty who will give it a go and they are unlikely to come back to say it didn't work - or even if it did.

I can only recall one enquirer who came back with an answer as to why - and her explanation didn't really make any sense.
Dzug

I have posted many times as to why people need this info and have never received a believable response...lol
Perhaps khani will enlighten us at to what the information is for when he responds to say thank you for answering his question
At a guess, the poster will have the contact details for someone at this bank and will now phone them up quoting the bank's address trying to persuade the victim to part with a PIN number or other such sensitive information.
i suppose it could be someone who has a cheque from somewhere and now wants to try and get all the details?

do cheque stubs have sort codes or? could it be for ID theft of some sort.

why cant these people just call their local branch and ask, why do they need to ask here?
Maybe- but I don't know why they bother to sign up onto Answerbank to ask the query when they could find it via google.
google probably comes up with hundreds of links to previous questions on answerbank so they come here
Did this help, khani???
