I've been playing films through a laptop comupter connected to a projector for several months now but recently the screen simply shows the message "image not supported" whether i be playing a film or even just trying to display the desktop. I've cycled through the output selections with fn key but to no avail

why has this suddenly happened ?

What can i do to fix this ?

Thanks in advance

sounds like the resolution has changed

look in the projector manual ... see what the optimum resolution settings are - for example 1024x768

right click the desktop
properties | settings ... and adjust as required

thanks, i tried that but to no avail
first go to the lappy manufacturer's support website
and ownload/install the latest graphics driver

a few random thoughts

any bent /dirty pins in the cable?

how about the refresh rate
should be 60 hz
(properties | advanced | monitor

try a range of resolutions?
640x480
800x600

finally ... switch off lappy ... switch projector on and connect up - then fire up lappy... it should detect the "new screen"

ibm's used to have a graphics utility just fpr projectors

if not .... ??

just hit me

try a different player ....
