converting music files to mp3 - files that will play on your CD player, please does anyone know how this is done?

To get them to play on your standard CD player, burn them onto a CDR as music tracks (not files) using Media Player, or Nero, or something similar. If your CD player wont play CDRs (although most do) then you're stuffed!
The best program to do this is roxio. You can create a disc that is a cd rather than just has mp3's ..remember to finalise the disc or it won't work!
If you make an mp3 disc your CD player must be compatible. If you look in something like the Argos catalogue they start from roughly �150 and have an MP3 category stamp next to them. As you'll see some do, some don't.
