Unlocking Mobile Phone

Does anyone know a reasonable/cheap site that unlocks mobiles. Tried one site who just emailed information on where to go to get it unlocked, market stalls etc. (charged for the info). Wary of trying another site, so if anyone knows of a good site could you please let me know.
