Hi,

Can somebody please help me, I've had my advent laptop for nigh on a year and used the exsisting wireless connection at my address.

Yesterday Windows Vista was updated to the latest servive pack and since this my wireless connection is non-exsistant.

There is nothing wrong with the wi-fi, adapted etc - I can still pick up on other PC's and appliances so Im guessing vista changed some settings.

When I attempt to scan for wireless devices it can find none, it tries to connect to some kind of 'ad-hoc' connection? but I am unable to connect or even see and wireless connection in range.

If you need me to be more specific I can provide more info, Ive tried the windows help to no avail but have also read on the internet that other people have encountered problems albeit on other PC's.

finally I tried to compare my Wireless card settings (available by selecting from the taskbar) to those on the Toshiba laptop - thinking I could change them to be the same, but the toshiba has a somewhat fancy applicable linked to the wireless which doesnt resemble my Ralink Wireless Cards properties in any way shape or form.

Pleeeeeease help!!
