How do I pin or tag a place on Google Maps / Earth?

Hi there... Complete goober question: HOW (in step-by-step explanations pleeease!) do I tag google maps / earth so that if someone types in the specific location, it'll take them straight there and put a nice little pin-balloon on the map to show them where we are?
And then place the tagged location on my (html ONLY!) website??
Help!
Pretty please...!?
I know that it CAN be done 'cos I see little blue "user" pins on google - I just don't know how to add my own!
