uploading cds

i used to be able to upload cds on to my computer to put them on my mp3 player. now my computer has stopped recognising cd's when i put one in and try to upload it, it says that there isn't a cd in. this is really annoying.. as far as i'm aware i have n't deleted anything. anyone know whats wrong? thankyou

If you have Windows XP, press the Windows key, (bottom row) and pause/break.

This opens system properties.

Click the hardware tab - device manager

Click cd drive, does it say the device is working properly?

Have you tried different cds?
