HP Photosmart D5160

When I do a search on PC World and other sites it tells me I need a HP 343 cartridge but the one that's in is a HP 348 and my printer isn't listed for this.

I remember when I first got it I got 2 black cartridges and a little black plastic thing but it never said what the black plastic thing was and the non-photo cartridge would not fit, or the printer wouldn't accept it, I can't remember which now!

Has anyone got one of these and know which black cartridge to get and what the little black plastic thing is actually for!!?
