How do I turn off Anti-virus software?

I want to install Logitech's Quickcam and it asks me to disable anti-virus software/spyware - I have Norton AV but I don't know how to do it (I know that I'm pretty dumb!!) Can anyone help? Please!!

I'd be very careful about doing this if I were you.
Go to start, then control panel and you'll see 'security' or 'security centre' which will allow you to switch security settings off and on, but be very sure to keep your machine protected by switching back on asap.

Hi buttons..

I just googled Error 2738 and it appears that you need to follow the instructions shown on these two sites (I've given you two so that you know it's not rubbish - or google those words yourself). Once you have sorted out the Registry, you should be able to disable the Norton software in order to install the webcam. (Incidentally, I've got a similar item and didn't have to disable my anti-virus software, or if it suggested that I did, then I took no notice !)

Thanks so much for looking Jugglering - I'm not having any luck though - problem is when I get the command prompt it says:
C:\windows\system32>
this cannot be deleted so that I can put in the new text and if I add the new text " cd%windir%\system32 " it just brings up the line - The filename, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect.
Any more suggestions??

c:\windows\system32 and c:\ windir\system32 are the same thing, ignore the error and carry on in the instructions

Ahhh... you may have to type cd %windir%\syswow64 instead of cd %windir%/system32
