Goodmans GCR1930DAB Radio

Just a quick question,

My Father In Law picked up a Goodmans GCR1930DAB Radio from a boot sale recently, however, upon unpacking it and setting it up, it all works fine but the volume control doesn't seem to work and is stuck on the loudest setting.

If anyone out there has experienced this problem and has resolved it, could you let me know the proceedure in which to get this working properly?

when you say stuck
does the knob move when you twiddle it?

There is no knob, it is a volume up/down button, which derpesses when you hit it but doesn't respond.
