Changing the bit rate on the transfer will increase or decrease the time it takes to transfer the file. You won't get more onto your device, just a quicker or slower transfer.

Think of it as filling a bath with water using a bucket. A bigger bucket will fill it faster.

To get more files on you will need to look at the compression settings when ripping the dvd into whichever format the Archaos uses.
pug I think you are confusing transfer rate with bitrate

rey
you are on the right lines.

has an archos specific option
and will allow you to resample your vids

smaller = less detail ... so you need to experiment with the actual settings. But it's like VHS and DVD recorders ... highQ 1 hour fills a DVD low q 8 hours to the same DVD.

a half hour vid can be reduced to about 50-100Mb and still be quite watchable. But it's a matter of taste
