I have received a letter from Tower Investigations Ltd, asking me to call them on a free phone number, they say they are acting on behalf of a client, but don't say who it is. I have called them to find out who it is, they say they are acting for Global Debt Recovery, but I've found out that some Directors are associated with both companies, does this sound wrong to anyone else? They are trying to tell me I owe money to a bank, when I closed the account at least six years ago, and if I had owed anything, I would have not been able to close the account, would I? No-one keeps correspondance for a closed bank account for six years, so there is no way of prooving that it was closed in credit. I'm sure they know this are they trying it on?!

They must give you the full details of any alleged debt. If as you say the account was closed more than six years ago and you have not acknowledged the debt since then the debt cannot be pursued through the courts so they will not be able to proceed.
It is possible for there to be valid charges to closed accounts - but they still have to prove the debt.

hi, tower investigations recently sent a letter 2 my mums address which i have not lived at for 7 yrs. they were also using the name mrs alexandra hunt to get in touch with me. ive never been married and the surname they are using is my ex-partners and my young sons surname. and considering i was never known by this name im worried what they could want from me.
