recovery disc

I got a new dell PC at xmas, and it went all wrong when i put on antivirus software. I then used the provided disc recovery cd to get it up and running again. This has meant that the PC only uses that partition of the PC, and is not much use. How do I get the recovery disc bit on the hard drive to go away?

( I should not be let loose with computers....)
