Seriously, if you visit a site and see the same person there, day and night, posting posting posting posting posting posting without mercy, saying nothing and picking on all and sundry, do you get just a little bit fed up ? I saw another site where a single user had monopolised EVERY thread in every section, with utter drivel.

It is happening here now. I will have to revisit my many alter personas to resist the Invasion Of The Dull.

Spotlight ?

I am barely on here these days because of the drivel you post.

there's a spotlight? where?
(looks up in awe!)

Yep! They're called trolls and after a while everyone gets to know them.

Once you know who they are (and it's not hard to suss it out), you can retaliate by winding them up and baiting them in return, so that in the end they dig themselves into a hole they can't get out of. At some point they'll foolishly do or say something that will get them instantly dismissed.

If they don't get themselves banned by their IPA, they'll come back under one of their numerous pseudonyms, but make themselves so obvious by the stupidity of their remarks that it's easy for those who know them to point them out to the mods and get them banned - again.

Throughout all this, everyone else has a jolly good laugh at their utter stupidity and lack of a life, although there will always be those who continue to give them the attention they crave.

I think every forum should have a dedicated troll-seeker/moderator who can stamp an offender's messages with "THIS PERSON IS A TROLL. DO NOT ANSWER ITS POSTS."
Didnt ward-minter dominate this site (CB and B&S) (along with his enemies) at some point in the not so distant past?
sexy jag- surely it'd be far more frustrating to a troll if a moderator just simply deleted posts they made rather than replying, presume ably a response of any kind is better than total silence?

whiffey- Yes.

Crumbs saxy-jag, were you a prisoner on Cerescape ? They had 10-minute suspensions, silencings, Category I, II, III, IV, V, offences. Some carried the death penalty. All moderators were required to post in no less that 5 very long paragraphs. I got perma-banned a few times cough cough.
As a newcomer to this site. I too noticed thisparticularily with one person who deluded himself by referring to his self as a legend.
Is this site always like this or have I chosen the wrong day?

you could have chosen any day and it would have been the same, welcome anyway green person called after a Dutch cheese ?? : )
No Gouda - sadly you havent chosen the wrong day but watch a little longer before you make judgment.
oh sorry Quoi we must be talking about a different topic on the site.
Didnt understand that dot - care to clarify? I was trying to suggest not getting involved.

I don't do aliases nowadays. I used to, without shame, and had loads of good harmless fun in surreal situations with other surreal and charming characters whom I miss to this day.

The trouble with current CB is that there is nothing to stimulate your mind, nothing to prod you to create a new character and jump on the back of somebody's motorcycle.

lol (compulsory)
Thank you dot.hawkes & Quoi.
Its just that trawling through the various topics, I noticed this Legend who having a green name, i take to also be new to this site, he seemed to be very rude & aggressive, but as you say, there must be many nice people on here also, I live in hope,& time will tell.
oh soz, i was trying to suggest that yes, legend is on here all the time and posts incesently, which is what i thought gouda was referring to
gouda- the trick is to 'syphon' AB and in particularly CB. Just open posts that interest you, if a particular person annoys you, then don't open their post- that way you keep ya blood pressure down.
