I am thinking of getting a LCD TV monitor for my PC to watch TV independent of the PC. Is this a good idea and what are the pros and cons...and what would be the best buy just now?

TFT screens are still a little way behind conventional CRT screens. Don't buy too cheap, and do check the reponse time. I would say for fast moving action you would need something below 20ms. I personally would go for a good priced CRT. They are far better value for money.
