Items looked at on the vweb which appear to become 'stored'.

After looking at any photo sent as an Attachment to an email message, if I then press the RH arrow key, there statrts to appear a succession, dozens, of images.. These are from past webs looked at, icons, photos,. newspaper banners, financial graphs etc etc. They are all easily deleted, sent to the recycle bin.
But how can they be stopped from being retained?

i know of no other way of finding them and they do not seem to be connected with cookies because none of those are affected by deletions

Use Firefox as your browser (because it offers greater flexibility than Internet Explorer when it comes to choosing which data to delete):

To delete all of the files you refer to, either go to Tools and click on 'Clear Private Data', or simply press Ctrl+Shift+Delete.

If you go to Tools > Options > Privacy you can put a check mark alongside 'Always clear my private data when I close Firefox', so that you don't even have to remember to clear the filers. While there, click on 'Settings' to determine exactly which data is cleared.

If you insist one using Internet Explorer (why? why? why?), there's a similar facility under Tools > Internet Options > Temporary Internet Files. You can simply click on 'Delete files' or use the 'Settings' button for more advanced control.

bu - It's ok recomending "smart" alternatives that are used by tekkies and "more advanced" users .... but punters just want to have a system that works (and works like every other machine) firefox is indeed the king of all browsers .... but last year it was opera and next year it will be something else
