Fridge Freezer playing up

Hi,
I have a 50/50 frost free fridge/freezer, at the moment the freezer compartment is not keeping the food frozen solid , but slightly thawed, and the fridge is sometimes almost freezing the eggs and other items, we have obviously tried adjusting the Temp controls but to no avail, it just seems so temperamental . any suggestions of what could be the cause, thanks
