endowment matured

i divorced in 1990 and didnot take my endowment policy with me, it matured in 2002 and i have been unable to trace the insurance company. the building society have now merged with another and they cannot help me, all i have is my name, former address and date of birth is there any way i can trace this policy.

An endowmwne policy is a financial service and should be reguated by the FSA (Financial Services Authority).

presumably you the old name of the BS you had the endowment with ?

and by, I did not take the endowment with me,
what does....that mean precisely ?

there are organisation which track what happens to which building socty
and you need to find their successor

and there should be records somewhere

Presumably you were paying premiums until 2002. Surely your bank would have records of the direct debit or standing order?
