I have several files on my external hard drive and I would like to change the name of these files, but when I try to rename them I get a message saying that access is denied, make sure disc is not full or write protected. I went into properties and it shows the files as read only, but even when I change this, it immediately reverts back to read only. All of these files were created and named by me, so why cant I change the name of them?

I think this may be because they are on the EXTERNAL Hardrive...may not work but try copying the files to your Hard Drive then renaming.

I had to copy files from a CD to my HD to be able to rename them...may work on the same principle.
