The 'Youtubey' thing doesn't work for me: not that I want it to really. The video says 'downloading' and then the picture moves a little, stops, and 30secs later moves a little more until finally I get out of there...don't have the patience to wait. Is this because my computer if 7 years old, and I only have a 56k modem?

Yes.

It is the dial up connection that is the problem. It is downloading as you play it, and the download speed is too slow for a smooth play.
My broardband is super fast and the you tube opens the videos great, it's jusy when i try to get this url to be validated in the box on here it says not found, very annoying.

Thanks, Ethel and Dot. Appreciate the answers. I suppose I should update and get Broadband.....and maybe even a new computer. I imagine a 7 year old computer is considered to be ancient..........But, then again, so am I:)
Just as the video starts to play (and you see the timer move), press pause. Wait for the entire video to load, and then press play -- you should get smooth video playback.

If not, your computer may be a little slow to handle it. Flash video is quite demanding on your processor.

Thanks, fo3, I'll try that. Although I have a feeling I wont have the patience for it to really get 'into' YouTube.
