I recently bought an upright fridge(LEC) which is excellent in all respects exept the "low noise" it emits in operation. My wife is sensitive to low noise and absolutely hates the new intruder. Has anyone got any idea which make of fridge gives the least noise, is there a survey available on this subject please?

This is all because new fridges don't have the CF gases and the replacement is not as efficient at travelling 'up the grid, causing the condenser to work harder, especially if it is a very tall fridge.

This is the explanation I had from Miele.

However, complain to the company you bought the fridge from and make sure it is working properly.

I have been searching for fridge dba statistics for over a year, without success.

Many thanks for your answer,I am still trying to find a standard for fridge noise.
If it's any help at all my Bosch is 41 dba and I never hear it. But it is an 'under the worktop' model, not a great tall one.
