Loads of choices: if the desktop has a CD burner, burn them all to CD. You could beg/borrow/steal an external USB CD burner and burn them all to CD. If you have a lot of time you could transfer them via spanned zipped files on floppy disks. If they both have an ethernet cards then network them with an RJ45 cross-over cable. You can buy USB networking devices so you can network them via USB. And, you can use a null modem cable and network them via serial ports (the slowest network method).

Thanks for all the advice; how would you get the mp3s into spanned zip files, if I were to go for that option?
Use winzip http://www.winzip.com use the free download. It is extremely laborious though
Unless they were very short songs or low quality then using a zip file is pointless because the whole point of MP3's is that they are precompressed. Zipping them will make little or no difference to the size and at CD quality a 3 minute song comes in well over the 1.4Mb limit of a floppy. You can buy USB memory modules which simply plug in, they come in various memory sizes, depending on the number of songs that may be a quick way and you can then use it in future to carry stuff around or transfer from one PC to another as it doesnt require any additional equipment.

OK thanks BabBob; how much do these USB memory modules cost on average?
They are actually a bit more than I thought. Have a check here. http://www.offtek.co.uk/usbpendrives.php?baskettyp

reckon a 32Mb would be good enough, just depends on how much you have transfer. The thing with this is you can carry it around in you pocket or bag so if you need to copy something from pretty much any computer you just pop it in and away you go.

Thanks again; I will check that out.
Personally, I'd use one of the methods j2buttonsw suggested, and go with the cross-over cable. I've used that method in the past for networking two of my PC's together. It's pretty cheap to do and very useful. :)
