Downloading Movies

I would like to download some movies that I can then burn to disc,but im not sure if my laptop has enough RAM.My Laptop currently has 256MB RAM,but what would happen if I tried to download a 500MB movie from the internet? would it just stop when the memory limit is reached?

Whilst a file is being downloaded it is placed on your hard drive and NOT in your RAM. So you could download a 1GB file with 256MB RAM with no problem. providing you have 1GB free hard disc space. So need to upgrade your RAM you just have to make sure you have enough disc space.
