Hi my freind has aperture for his mac...does anyone know a good pc alternative...know there is photoshop but wondered if there was a pc version that is high end for just photography...thanks

What makes it special is that it's aimed for RAW users. If you're not one of them, then just stick with photoshop.

Otherwise, check out Adobe Lightroom:
