Poisoned Apple

When I installed the software CD for my ipod the DVD -RW function disappeared from my computer.
It only came back when I did a system restore.
This has happened twice now with 2 different cds.
Any ideas ????

Just guessing , but i would imagine this cd contains its own burning software which has disabled your previous program for burning cd/dvd s.
