hi all.
a friend of mine is looking for a dvd recorder with a hard drive & videoplus.
he is a bit of a technophob,
so he wants one that is fairly easy to use.
anyone any recomendations.

I have a philips hard drive dvd recorder.

For recording tv programmes, it is very easy. There is EPG (electronic programme guide) for the next 7 days viewing - just highlight the programmes you want to record, and press the record button.

Archiving the programmes to disk is also very easy - press one button.

Editing before archiving is fiddly but ok with practice.

I would advise your friend to buy one of the monthly magazines and read the reviews before buying though.
